Call for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee members

The Council of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario is pleased to announce that it is forming an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Council, in an effort to ensure all voices and perspectives are represented. This important Committee of the Council is charged with developing and maintaining a program of equity, diversity and inclusion for the College.

Chief among the Committee’s responsibilities will be the development of appropriate policies for the Council that reflect its values and commitment to these important principles, and to review the College’s regulatory framework and processes to ensure that they are equitable to all and free of bias and discriminatory approaches.

While this Committee is a Council Committee—meaning that it will report directly to the Council—it will include Registrants and members of the public who have knowledge of and experience with equity, diversity and inclusion policies and programs or who have first-hand knowledge of systemic and discriminatory practices.

As the College recognises and embraces the diversity of its Registrants and the public, its newly founded EDI Committee welcomes applications from all qualified candidates, while especially encouraging applications from women, visible minorities, persons with disabilities, BIPOC, Asian, the LGBTQ2S+ communities and other communities affected by discrimination. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. However, the College prioritises its goal of forming an EDI Committee that reflects the communities that are most impacted by discrimination, marginalization as well as systemic racism.
