2023 Self-Assessments
Posted On: February 1, 2023
The Quality Assurance (QA) Program is an important aspect of the College’s mandate which aims to protect the public through the provision of various tools and resources to help Registrants demonstrate their ongoing competence. The Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) guides the development and implementation of the QA Program and ensures that Registrants comply with all aspects of the program.
Self-assessments are one part of the QA program of the College and ensure that Registrants annually reflect upon their current professional proficiency and identify areas for potential improvement. The online self-assessment questionnaires utilize a series of questions related to the standards of practice and guidelines and are designed to help Registrants assess their knowledge, skills and judgement.
The QAC has determined that for the upcoming 2023 renewal year, Registrants are required to complete three (3) online self-assessment questionnaires. Registrants must complete the mandatory Sexual Abuse and Boundaries Self-Assessment plus two additional self-assessments of their choosing.
While the College will not review individual Registrant’s responses, it will confirm that Registrants have completed the questionnaires as a declaration on the annual registration renewal form (due no later than 5:00 p.m., March 31, 2023). The questionnaires take about 30 minutes to complete.
NDs who wish to get a head start on their QA requirements, can visit the College’s Self-Assessment webpage and begin completing their questionnaires.
