Currency Requirements and Practising the Profession

The first session of our celebrated Regulatory Education Program (REP) in 2025 will be presented by members of our registration team on the topic of Currency requirements as it pertains to practicing the profession of naturopathy.

Currency requirements are set out in the Registration Regulation to ensure that registrants practise naturopathy for a minimum amount of time to maintain the necessary clinical competencies, knowledge, skill and judgement to provide safe, competent, and ethical patient care.

This session will focus on the currency requirements per the Registration Regulation and Registration Program Policy of the College, the options available to registrants following annual audits of reported practise hours, activities to address currency deficiency and identify activities that can be included in practise hours.  Our subject experts will also provide clarification on the new direct patient care requirements starting April 1, 2027 and address any questions from participants.

About the Regulatory Education Program

The Regulatory Education Program provides Registrants as well as members of the public access to free virtual educational programming that is focused directly on key regulatory concepts and rules. It is intended to allow Registrants and the public to learn more about the regulatory framework which governs NDs in Ontario and to help NDs not only comply, but to avoid potential issues that present a risk of harm to the public.
