Council Policies
Commitment to Transparency
To help protect the public, we are committed to transparency. This means providing Ontarians with the tools to make informed decisions and ensuring that our own decision-making processes are easily understood. Find out more about our commitment to transparency here.
Ends Polices
The Ends Policies of the Council are strategic in nature. They instruct the CEO as to the results to be achieved, for certain groups, at specified costs.
Council-CEO Linkage
Council-CEO Linkage policies delegate authority from the Council to the CEO and detail how the Council and the CEO are linked by detailing the CEO’s role (in addition to the statutory responsibilities outlined in the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991) and how the CEO’s performance will be monitored by the Council.
Governance Process
Good governance is the responsibility of every Board of Directors. The same is true for the Council of the College. The Governance Process policies detail the processes by which the Council of the College will govern itself, the accountabilities of its members and how governance issues will be addressed.

Executive Limitations
Executive Limitations policies limit the latitude the CEO may exercise in choosing the organisational means. Since the Ends policies set the strategic directions of the College and the Linkage policies delegate all operational activities to the CEO, the CEO may choose the means by which the College will achieve the results expected in the Ends policies. Executive Limitation policies, which are traditionally set in the negative, limit the choices the CEO might make.
