IVIT Examination
Standard of Practice for Intravenous Infusion Therapy
The General Regulation and associated standards describe the requirements for a Registrant to meet and maintain the Standard of Practice for Intravenous Infusion Therapy (IVIT). These include:
- successful completion of a College-approved course in IVIT, and
- successful completion of a College-approved or administered examination in IVIT.
Registrants must also meet the Standard of Practice for Prescribing before being able to compound for and administer IVIT. Similarly, they may not administer any drug or substance listed in Table 2 of the General Regulation by non-IVIT injection (i.e., intramuscular and subcutaneous) until they meet the Standard of Practice for Prescribing.

Registrants who have enrolled in and completed a College-approved IVIT training course are eligible to register for the Ontario IVIT Exam. Naturopaths registered in another province who wish to take the Ontario IVIT Exam are eligible to do so if they:
- have met the College’s eligibility requirements as noted in the Ontario IVIT Exam Handbook, and
