Registrants and Titles

As a Registrant of the College, you are legally allowed to use the title of “Dr.” as long as you include the appropriate designation immediately following your name. You may only use the titles and abbreviations listed in the Registration Regulation.

General class designation

  • ND
  • Naturopath
  • Naturopathic Doctor
  • DN
  • Naturopathe
  • Docteur en naturopathie

Inactive class designation

When using a protected title, Registrants of the Inactive class must clearly indicate that they are not registered in a class that allows patient care or supervision:

  • ND (Inactive)
  • Naturopath (Inactive)
  • Naturopathic Doctor (Inactive)
  • DN (Inactive)/(Inactif)
  • Naturopathe (Inactive)/(Inactif)
  • Docteur en naturopathie (Inactive)/(Inactif)

You must self-identify as Inactive regardless of whether you use the doctor title.
