Reporting Periods & Groups


All General class Members of the College are required to participate in Continuing Education (CE) and Professional Development (PD) activities on a three-year cycle.  Reporting cycles start on October 1 and end on September 30. For example, if your CE cycle started on October 1, 2016, your cycle end date was September 30, 2019.

Your reporting cycle is determined by your initial year of registration and not by the specific date on which you were registered. For example, all Members who were registered in 2016 have a cycle start date of October 1, 2016 and an end date of September 30, 2019, regardless of whether they registered in January or December.

Determining Your Reporting Cycle

Please refer to the chart below to find your reporting cycle.  If you are not sure when you were first registered, check your profile on the Public Register for your initial registration date. 

For example, if you were initially registered in 2016, you are in Group II and your first CE cycle end date was September 30, 2019. This was the due date for you to submit your Continuing Education and Professional Development log. Your next CE cycle began on October 1, 2019 and ends on September 30, 2022, and so on.

Reporting Requirements Changes

In recognition of the economic reality facing the profession due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the College's Quality Assurance (QA) Committee made an important change to the continuing education (CE) reporting requirements.  The QA Committee has reduced the number of required CE credits while ensuring that Members remain compliant with the QA Program.  For the next three reporting cycles through 2022, Members will be required to submit only two thirds of the required number of credits for their cycle.

Amended Reporting Requirements


Group I – October 1, 2018 - September 30, 2021 

  • Category A – 20 credits
    • Jurisprudence – 2 credits
    • Pharmacology – 4 credits (if prescribing)
    • IVIT – 4 additional credits (if performing IVIT)
  • Category B – 26 credits


Group II – October 1, 2019 - September 30, 2022

  • Category A – 20 credits
    • Jurisprudence – 2 credits
    • Pharmacology – 4 credits (if prescribing)
    • IVIT – 4 additional credits (if performing IVIT)
  • Category B – 26 credits


Group III – October 1, 2017 - September 30, 2020

  • Category A – 20 credits
    • Jurisprudence – 2 credits
    • Pharmacology – 4 credits (if prescribing)
    • IVIT – 4 additional credits (if performing IVIT)
  • Category B – 26 credits
