(August 5, 2015) The deadline for paying the balance of registration fees for 2015 is fast approaching. Those fees, along with a photograph for the Public Register, are due by 5:00pm EST on August 14, 2015.
On June 30, 2015, the College of Naturopaths of Ontario provided members of the profession, by e-mail, with the required 45 days’ notice to pay the remainder of fees and provide a photo. If you have not done so already, please review the following:

College Registration Fees
On July 1, 2015, all registrants of the former Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy – Naturopathy (BDDT-N) became members of the new College of Naturopaths of Ontario. This payment allows members to complete their current membership year and continue practising until March 31, 2016, when renewals will be due. The College registration year is April 1 to March 31.
For the current registration year only, registration fees for the College have been reduced by the amount that registrants paid the BDDT-N at renewal (either $900 or $250, depending on class).

Members can pay their registration fees by:
- Credit card – 1) log into the College website; 2) click on your cart in the top right corner to go to the payment screen; 3) on the payment screen, follow the directions to click the "pay now" button to put your fees in the shopping cart; and 4) proceed with your secure credit card payment.
- Personal cheque or money order – must be made payable to the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and received in the office by the deadline noted above.
Members in both the General class and Inactive class must provide the College with a colour, passport-type photograph taken within the last three months. The College will post the photograph as part of the member’s profile on the Naturopathic Doctor Register.
Please download the Photo Submission Form from the resource section of the College website, and follow the instructions carefully. To avoid common errors, make sure:
- The guarantor signs the back of the photo.
- The back of the photo includes your name.
- The guarantor is a member of a regulated profession in Ontario.
Members who completed their initial registration with the BDDT-N after September 2014 do not need to submit a photograph, as the College has the one on file from the time of application. However, those members may submit a new photograph if they wish; see the specifications and instructions in the Photo Submission Form.
Late Fee, Suspension and Reinstatement
The August 14, 2015 deadline is firm. Members who have not paid all the necessary fees or submitted a photograph by that date will receive a notice of the College’s intent to suspend the member.
The suspension will take effect 30 days from the date of that notice. The member has those 30 days to pay the registration fee plus a late fee of $260. This late fee applies to both classes of registration. If a member has paid their registration fee but not submitted their photo, the late
fee will not apply but the member may still be suspended.
Once suspended, a member may not practise the profession, see and/or treat patients. The suspended ND is not considered to be in good standing with the College. To regain good standing, a member must pay a reinstatement fee of $225, in addition to all of the outstanding fees, and rectify the reason for the suspension.
